35 Royal Russell Students attended the 6th annual Benenden conference on December 9th 2013. 4 students – Sam, Hamza, Charlotte and Georgia were invited to act as co-chairs of their committees and did a great job. 10 students were asked to make the official film of the conference and – having spent the whole day interviewing and filming – they amazingly managed to complete two films which are now available to see at: http://mun.royalrussell.co.uk/2013/12/09/royal-russell-at-benenden-mun/ . Our delegates also had a very successful day. 21 students, in 5 delegations, attended the conference with a mix of the very experienced, the less experienced and some first-timers. All our students spoke and many took the floor. 5 won awards – Badshah, Oleg and David winning Highly Commended awards and Tola and Georgia winning Outstanding delegate awards. With over 20 schools and over 50 delegations it was impressive that our Cuban delegation of David, Corinne, Oleg and Tola won a Highly Commended Delegation award (one of only three delegation awards given at the conference.)
